NDIS Practice Standards & Worker Screening (NWSC)

NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission

Registered NDIS providers must ensure that all workers employed in risk-assessed roles hold a valid clearance from the national NDIS Worker Screening Database (NWSC). Cleared workers are continuously monitored across all Australian states and territories. Providers must also verify state Working with Children Checks (WWCC / Blue Card) when supporting pediatric participants.

3

Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS)

Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission & NDIS Commission

SIRS requires registered aged care and NDIS providers to identify, record, and report serious incidents affecting consumers. Providers must notify Priority 1 incidents (such as unreasonable force, unlawful sexual contact, or serious injury) to the Commission within 24 hours of becoming aware of the incident, while maintaining a comprehensive internal incident register.

4

Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards & Care Minutes

Department of Health and Aged Care

Residential aged care providers must maintain an average of 215 direct care minutes per resident per day (including 44 minutes from a Registered Nurse). Under the upcoming Support at Home transition, in-home aged care providers must demonstrate visit delivery evidence and adhere to standardized price caps.
