Blended Regular Rate (Overtime)
Regulatory Impact & Compliance Overview
If a caregiver works weekday day shifts at $18/hour and weekend shifts at $22/hour, overtime cannot simply be calculated from the base rate. The regular rate is determined by dividing total straight-time earnings by total hours worked in that week, and overtime premium (0.5x the blended rate) is added for all hours over 40.
Governing Authority
Enforced by U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) in United States. Compliance with these standards is legally required for all licensed and participating care providers.
How AsanWork Enforces Blended Regular Rate (Overtime)
AsanWork builds compliance directly into daily scheduling workflows. Hard compliance stops prevent un-vetted, un-screened, or non-credentialed staff from receiving shift allocations, ensuring 100% audit readiness.
