Continuing Healthcare (CHC) & Funded Nursing Care (FNC) Guide
CHC and FNC are two different ways the NHS pays for care. CHC covers the full cost of care for people with a primary health need. FNC is a fixed weekly payment for the nursing element of a care home placement. For agencies delivering care at home this matters because the invoicing, evidence and review cadence all change when the payer is a CCG-turned-ICB commissioner instead of a private client.
